In our workshop, we are encountering a recurring issue with several GE Dash 3000/4000/5000 monitors. The monitors display correctly for about 2-3 minutes before either rebooting or failing to start up properly, leading to continuous rebooting. All affected units exhibit similar behavior.
Common Error Messages:
"SERVICE MONITOR, Possible Data Corruption"
"Power On Self-Test fails at RAM test (ADR 30xxxxxx)"
"Missing ECG waveform"
"Not for patient use"
"SPO2 intermittently picking up the patient's signal"
"NIBP Hardware Malfunction"
These errors typically indicate a problem with the Data Acquisition Assembly (DAS). Replacing the DAS is generally necessary to resolve these issues. While GE estimates the cost of a DAS module replacement at approximately $4,000.00, we offer replacement DAS modules at a significantly lower cost. Additionally, these Dash monitors have been upgraded to version 6.7 with Oximax or Masimo SpO2 technology.
These errors can also occur due to issues with the display assembly flex cable, as it facilitates communication between the Main CPU Board and the DAS Assembly. We attempted to order just the flex cable but were informed that GE no longer sells this part separately, requiring the purchase of the entire assembly (approximately $2,000.00 from GE). We offer replacement flex cables for about $450.00.
Additionally, several displays on the Dash series have failed after approximately 2 to 3 years of use, typically due to backlight inverter failures. GE estimates the cost of a replacement backlight inverter at around $500.00. We have replaced many backlight inverter PCBs for units with dim or black displays, including Dash 2000/3000/4000/5000 models.
Given that the GE Dash patient monitor systems have been in use for about 10 years, it’s not uncommon for inverters to fail. We keep replacement inverters in stock. For more information or to purchase a replacement backlight inverter, please contact us.
